The Ladybird's Utopian World

Production Process - Level6 Negotated:

http://wsyss.blogspot.co.uk/
My Motivation:

In the summer holiday, I observed the bushes near my house. And then I discoved when I put my head into the bushes to observe and take the photos, the bushes will change to another world in the eyes.I think we can see the different world through a different perspective, this idea is very interesting for me. So I started to design an imaginary world.

My perspective on the microscopic world. I want to explore the world of scenery every day we ignore. Perhaps change the macro perspective, there will be new discoveries and surprises. I believe that in this world,  the small corner can lurk wonderful, just the fact that we are able to find them.

I have saw a France film about micro-word before. The film's name is 'Microcosmos' , this film is more driven me to interest in created the project for micro-world.

                                                                microcosmos

I created a ladybird utopia microscopic world. I've always liked the ladybug, they are decorated with bright shell, even if they are small and very humble, but still insisted beautiful. They are not only decorative also decorated the surrounding environment, regardless of where they appear in will become a beautiful embellishment. So  I created a utopia for this beautiful little creature. It is a peaceful and beautiful, equals world. They are surrounded by colorful vegetation, happiness. This utopia is not huge, it just belongs to the microscopic world, but the ladybirds life where happiness and meet.

Through this project, I would like to express is the world doubts huge for our human life. A beautiful world has nothing to do with its size. I saw around the destruction of the environment, and the never-ending battle for rights and money between people. Our lives will hear different doomsday prophecy every year and every day will see news about war and natural disasters. I do not remember is when we will be accustomed to living in the environment where threats and intimidation. I think that this result is due to the extension of human desire.

When the humans evolving more and more powerful, they dominate all of the world. The humans become more and more greedy, they made many inventions and destructions in the world. They don't care in fact they already possess alot of things. I think such a world is not beautiful, no matter how big it is.

The contact :

About Utopia:
utopia is a community or society possessing highly desirable or perfect qualities. The word was coined in Greek by Sir Thomas More for his 1516 book Utopia, describing a fictional island society in the Atlantic Ocean. The term has been used to describe both intentional communities that attempt to create an ideal society, and fictional societies portrayed in literature. It has spawned other concepts, most prominently dystopia.
Chronologically, the first recorded utopian proposal is Plato's Republic Part conversation, part fictional depiction, and part policy proposal, it proposes a categorization of citizens into a rigid class structure of "golden," "silver," "bronze" and "iron" socioeconomic classes. The golden citizens are trained in a rigorous 50-year long educational program to be benign oligarchs, the "philosopher-kings." The wisdom of these rulers will supposedly eliminate poverty and deprivation through fairly distributed resources, though the details on how to do this are unclear. The educational program for the rulers is the central notion of the proposal. There is a general  pacifism or pacifist attitude. However, the people of the Republic are all ready to defend themselves or to compete militarily for resources (such as land) if necessary. It has few laws, no lawyers and rarely sends its citizens to war, but hires mercenaries from among its war-prone neighbors (these mercenaries were deliberately sent into dangerous situations in the hope that the more warlike populations of all surrounding countries will be weeded out, leaving peaceful peoples).
In the sixteenth century, Thomas More's book Utopia proposed an ideal society of the same name. Some readers, including utopian socialists, have chosen to accept this imaginary society as the realistic blueprint for a working nation, while others have postulated that More intended nothing of the sort. Some maintain the position that More's Utopia functions only on the level of a satire, a work intended to reveal more about the England of his time than about an idealistic society. This interpretation is bolstered by the title of the book and nation, and its apparent confusion between the Greek for "no place" and "good place": "utopia" is a compound of the syllable ou-, meaning "no", and topos, meaning place. But the homophonic prefix eu-, meaning "good," also resonates in the word, with the implication that the perfectly "good place" is really "no place.
My ladybird's Utopian is belong to the Ecology utopian. And then is the introdaction of Ecology utopian.
Ecology
Ecological utopian society describes new ways in which society should relate to nature. They react to a perceived widening gap between the modern Western way of living that destroys nature and the traditional way of living that is thought to be more in harmony with nature. According to the Dutch philosopher Marius de Geus, ecological utopias could be sources of inspiration for green political movements.
In the novelette Rumfuddle (1973), Jack Vance presents a novel twist on the ecological utopia. His hero invents paratime travel and becomes effectively the ruler of earth by giving everyone their own alternate-earth wilderness worlds as vacation retreats/suburbs without neighbors. However, he requires them to work during the week cleaning up the original Earth and restoring its pristineness. A typical job is driving a bulldozer that shoves the detritus of industrial civilization through a portal into the oceans of a paratime garbage world.

My Works:

Spring

When spring comes, ladybirds will climb at the top of their favorite flowers to feel the Sun.They will to give out the Flying lanterns, each flower pistil is a Flying lantern, in the pistil containing their blessing for the future, I heard that the Flying lantern floating furthest aspirations can be achieved.

Summer

The summer afternoon ladybird who prefer to stay at homes surrounded by flowers to have a nap. Considerate neighbors crossing sound very quietly, only hear the cicada's sound in the distance. Overhead, large tracts of green leaves blocking the sun. They often do sweet dreams, woke up and smelled the aroma of the flowers.

 Autumn

Autumn is the best season for play games. Under the tree covered with colored husk and leaves. This time, pray lights has been rising. They wish in this season could to get full of food. Ladybugs are playing hide-and-seek in the light, under the leaf and husk perhaps hidden in their small head, did you found them?

Winter

Every winter night, the ladybirds who like to enjoy the beautiful ‘moon’. It was standing there with a white radiance, ladybirds are often whispering with their partners in the moonlight. Such a lovely night quiet and beautiful ... but ladybirds are not like the windy night, because the 'full moon' will disappear.

Photoshop work:

The beginning I have been produced with hand-painted details of the photo. I think that the hand-painted photo allows much more rich and strange. However tutor suggested I switch to the details of the physical production. They feel more convincing physical production than hand-painted. Because the real thing in order to restore the authenticity of my creative utopia, rather than hand-painted look is fake. I think their proposal is very reasonable, so I try to change their own works. The following is a hand-painted before I finished.

Research:

The Borrowers live in the secret places of quiet old houses; behind the mantelpiece, inside the harpsichord, under the kitchen clock. They own nothing, borrow everything, and think that human beings were invented just to do the dirty work. Arrietty's father, Pod, was an expert Borrower. He could scale curtains using a hatpin, and bring back a doll's teacup without breaking it. Girls weren't supposed to go borrowing but as Arrietty was an only child her father broke the rule, and then something happened which changed their lives. She made friends with the human boy living in the house...
